Bernadette Pierson, OTR/L
Bernadette is a graduate of Mount Mary College in
Milwaukee, WI and has been practicing since 1990. Her
history of OT unit and in Neuro care, as well as outpatient
services for hand patients.  She currently specializes in
pediatrics in oral motor skills, using vestibular techniques
for visual motor skill, sensory processing, Myofacial
Release/ craniosacral, and energy work as a Reiki Master.  
Currently Bernadette provides services in the Page area as
well as the Navajo Nation, and various BIA schools.  She
enjoys working with children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy,
and those with severe needs, as well as the child that just
needs a little more help with fine motor skills.  At times she
assists with adult services in the Page hospital and in home

Brenda Kania Neeley, Certified OT
Brenda earned her Associates Degree in Wisconsin at
Madison Area Technical College. She has been a Certified
Occupational Therapy Assistant for 11 years. Brenda
serves Tuba City, Flagstaff, Winslow and provides services
for school based children on the Navajo Nation. She has
worked at Northland Rural Therapy Associates for five
years.   She enjoys growing carrots and other vegetables,
chickens, has a small farm, and enjoys the outdoors.   

Maureen “Mo” Russell, OTR/L,
Business Consultant
Maureen is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire
and has a Masters degree in Health Care Innovation from
Arizona State University.  She specializes in pediatric
occupational therapy and sensory integration.  Maureen
has been practicing for over thirty years and used to own
Northland Rural Therapy Associates.  She has since sold
NRTA and remains an OT for NRTA, as well as the
business consultant.

Nikkol Anderson, M.A. OTR/L, ATP
Nikkol earned her B.A. in Occupational Therapy at the
College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN and her M.A. in
Special Education from the University of Arizona in Tucson,
AZ.  She specializes in working with students with severe and
profound disabilities. Nikkol has been practicing since 1997
and provides school-based occupational therapy as well as
assistive technology services.

Gretchen Wilce, OTR/L
Gretchen has her Masters degree in Maternal-Child Health and
Health Education with a cross cultural emphasis.  She worked on
a field project, conducted in Pakistan, running maternal-child
health clinics and teaching health-extension workers. She
received her Bachelors of Science degree in Occupational
Therapy from Boston University. Gretchen serves the Flagstaff
Unified School additional courses in Assistive Technology,
Sensory additional courses in Assistive Technology, Sensory
Integration Theory, Treatment, Testing andInterpretation
(SIPT), AOTA Hand therapy course, Brain Gym, Achieving Fine
Skill Acquisition Through Postural Control, Linguistic analysis,
Journal-writing as a therapeutic medium, Evaluation and
Treatment of Dysphagia, and Designing and teaching a literacy
program. She is certified in S.I.P.T., S.C.S.I.T. Testing #168,
First Aid/C.P.R., Childbirth Education, and is currently
completing a graduate certificate program in Assistive
Technology at NAU.   
Sara Clancey, MOTR/L, Lead OT
Sara is a graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh,
PA.  She has a Bachelors of Health Science and Masters of
Occupational Therapy.  Sara specializes in sensory
integration and early intervention. She works in schools,
early intervention, and serves NRTA at lead OT.  She has
been practicing for eight years and provides services in

Susan Drexler, OTR/L
Susan earned her B.S. from Pacific University in Forest
Grove, Oregon.  She has been a practicing Occupational
Therapist since 1998.  Susan worked for Northland Rural
Therapy Associates for a couple years, moved to
Massachusetts for six years working in Early Intervention,
and then returned to Flagstaff, working again for NRTA.
She specializes in Early Intervention, feeding, sensory
integration and working with school aged children.  She
currently serves the Flagstaff area and the AzEIP Hopi
Samantha Swensen Herrick, MOTR/L
Samantha attended East Carolina University, where she
achieved a Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Therapy,
and a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy.  She
also earned a Graduate Certificate in Assistive Technology.  
She has been practicing for over seven years.  Samantha
specializes in autism spectrum disorders, sensory
integration and assistive technology.  She primarily works
with preschool and school aged children.  Samantha adores
being a step-mother and spending time with her family.  She
also enjoys crafts, woodworking, outdoor activities and
playing guitar.
Linda Westlin, OTR/L
Linda Westlin attended George Washington University in
Washington DC where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in
Biology.  She received her Post Bachelor of Science in
Occupational Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Linda has been practicing for
over 20 years in both hospital and school settings.  Linda
specializes in sensory integration and sound-based therapy.  
In her spare time Linda enjoys ringing hand bells, kayaking,
and hiking.
Julie De Groff, OTR/L
Julie De Groff earned a Bachelor of Science in
Occupational Therapy at the University of Illinois in
Chicago, Illinois.  She has worked with all ages of clients,
including the elderly populations and children.  She
specializes in motor control difficulties, sensory processing
disorders, developmental delays and family education and
support.  She recently returned to NRTA after working
with the elderly at The Peaks in Flagstaff.  Julie works in
both school and home based settings.

Carrie Tomlinson, Certified OT
Carrie earned an Associates degree in Occupational Therapy
from Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New
Mexico. She also attended Oklahoma State University where
she received both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of
Science in Forestry. Carrie specializes in Orthopedic
Occupational Therapy as well as Pediatric Occupational
Therapy. She enjoys working with children to help them
achieve functional goals. On her spare time Carrie enjoys
being a Mom and spending time with her family.
